Ontario County Public Health: 24 new COVID-19 cases Monday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 24 new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 but no new deaths as of Monday.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,679 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 100 people have died.

Many of the new cases are related household contacts, college students, and a few community cases.

There are 205 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 305 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 510 in the isolation and quarantine category.

Twenty-seven people are in the hospital, and with 40 recoveries in the last 24 hours, 5,381 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.

There were 368 negative tests.
