Ontario County Public Health: 23 new COVID-19 cases Thursday

HOPEWELL — Ontario County Public Health is reporting 23 new community-acquired cases of COVID-19 but no new deaths Feb. 25.

Since the start of the pandemic, 5,740 Ontario County residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and 100 people have died.

Many of the new cases Thursday are related household contacts, college and school-age students, and travel-acquired and community cases.

There are 209 COVID-19 positive individuals who are being isolated. This is in addition to 308 mandatory quarantines (contacts of positive cases), totaling 517 in the isolation and quarantine category.

There are 25 people in the hospital.

With 31 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours, 5,438 recoveries have been reported since the start of the pandemic.

There were 852 negative tests.
