Clark County COVID-19 case, hospitalization rates still falling

May 11—Clark County's COVID-19 case and hospitalization rates continued to fall this week in the latest data from Clark County Public Health. Four deaths were reported.

Public Health reported 87 additional cases this week, for a case rate of 17.2 cases per 100,000 population over seven days, down from 23.4 last week. The county has recorded 113,570 cases since the pandemic began in 2020.

The four new deaths brings the total fatalities attributed to COVID-19 to 1,105 to date.

Hospital admissions continued to fall this week, with 2.4 new admissions per 100,000 population over seven days, down from 3.4 last week, according to Public Health, which reported 14.7 percent of hospital beds and 8.7 percent of ICU beds were occupied by people with or suspected of having COVID-19.

Public Health reported those hospitalized include 30 diagnosed with COVID-19 and 36 still awaiting test results.

Overall, 96.2 percent of Clark County's hospital beds and 93.5 percent of ICU beds were occupied this week, according to Public Health data.
