Quilters honor local World War II, Korean Conflict veterans

Observer-Dispatch - 9/16/2020

The One Stitch at a Time Quilting Group in Sherburne has been honoring our World War II and Korean Conflict veterans in the local area with a Quilt of Honor quilt since 2018. To date, this group of dedicated quilters have made and presented a total of 46 quilts to these deserving veterans.

This year, they are looking for names of WWII and Korean Conflict veterans in the local area who have not yet received a Quilt of Honor. If you know of any living veterans serving our country during this time, please contact them.

In order for this group to continue their efforts, they need assistance from the public and local residents. Monetary donations, which are most helpful, help cover the cost of purchasing fabric, batting and the quilting process. They also welcome donations of military type cotton fabric.

For more information on ways to help this worthwhile effort, please call Trish Kane at 607-674-9656.
