Minnesota Jewish War Veterans to hold 75th annual membership dinner Wednesday

Oct. 26--The Minnesota Department of Jewish War Veterans of the United States will hold its 75th annual membership dinner at Mancini's Char House on Wednesday in St. Paul.

The dinner will be held in conjunction with the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary of Minnesota and will honor current and previous members as well as host the installation of current president Renee Kvasnik and vice president Tamara S. Michaels.

Dinner will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 531 West Seventh St. in St. Paul, and the event also will be live-streamed internationally. Social hour will start at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. The program will commence at 7 p.m.

Guests of honor at the event include Jeffrey Sacks, national commander of the Jewish War Veterans of the United States; Robert Nussbaum, national chief of staff of Jewish War Veterans; Larry Herke, commissioner of Veterans Affairs for Minnesota; and Shawn Manke, major general and adjutant general for the Minnesota National Guard.

Additional guests include Stephen Whitehead, national commander of Disabled American Veterans; Mark Dvorak, Department of Minnesota American Legion commander; John Flores, the Minnesota department commander of AmVets and Tim Valentin, representative of Minnesota Paralyzed Veterans.

Guests will be required to wear masks and abide by social distancing. The event will be livestreamed on the JWV Department of MN's Facebook page.
