Free meals and deals abound for Veterans Day 2020

It's the day when we honor those who've worn the uniform in service to our country. And from sun-up to sundown, businesses are bestowing veteran and active-duty military personnel with free or discounted meals, products and services.

Check out some of the Indianapolis-area offerings. Note that many of the restaurant freebies might be dine-in only and most require military ID or proof of service.

U.S. military veterans receive a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake when dining.

Active, inactive and military personnel receive a complimentary Build Your Own Grand Slam 5 a.m. to noon.

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

Veterans get a free Pulled Pork Classic Sandwich.

Famous Dave's

Veterans receive a free lunch Georgia chopped pork sandwich with a side. (Dine-in, to-go and online.)

Fazoli’s

Military service members receive a free spaghetti with meat or marinara.

Joella’s Hot Chicken

All veterans and active-duty military personnel and reserves receive a complimentary Jumbo Tenders meal. They also get a 10% discount year-round.

Max & Erma’s

Veterans and active military receive a free Best Cheeseburger in America with endless seasoned fries, a fountain drink and a chocolate chip cookie.

Metro Diner

Active and retired military receive 50% of their meals.

O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar

Veterans and active duty service members get a free dine-in only meal. They also get a 10% military discount year-round.

Outback Steakhouse

Active and retired military get a free Bloomin’ Onion and Coke beverage.

Military service members, police officers, firefighters and first responders get 10% off their checks every day.

Pilot and Flying J Travel Centers

Through Nov. 15, military veterans receive a free breakfast combo meal through the Pilot Flying J app.

Red Lobster

Veterans, active-duty military and reservists receive a free appetizer or dessert.

Red Robin

This offer starts later and lasts through the end of the month. Nov. 12 through Nov. 30, Military Royalty members will receive a free Tavern burger with Bottomless Steak Fries. Dine-on or to go.

Starbucks

Veterans, military service members and military spouses get a free tall (12-ounce) hot brewed coffee.

Taco John’s

All active, reserve, retired, and honorably discharged members of the U.S. military receive a meal through the Taco John's app by entering the promo code “VETERAN” under the “More” tab.

Texas Corral

Veterans and active duty service members receive a free entree from the special Veterans Day menu, along with any soft drink or coffee.

Wendy’s

Free small breakfast combos for active military and veterans. 6:30 m to 10:30 a.m. with valid military ID in-restaurant or at the drive-thru.

Yard House

Veterans and active duty receive one free appetizer.

OTHER OFFERS

Hair Cuttery

Through Nov, 15, veterans receive a 10% discount off any haircut or salon service.

Topgolf

Through its ongoing Heroes Program, veterans and active-duty military personnel receive 10% off Topgolf gameplay, 20% discount on select monthly memberships, and 10% discount on events.

Office Depot and OfficeMax

Through Nov. 13, veterans, retirees, active-duty military personnel, reservists and their dependents receive 25% off qualifying regular and sale-priced purchases in-store.

Mattress Firm

Through Nov. 17, veterans and active-duty military members receive 10 percent off of their purchases.

Tervis

Through Nov. 14, veterans receive 40% off tumblers and water bottles at www.tervis.com.
